Choosing the correct size depends mostly on the babywearer's weight (pre-pregnancy weight, please). If you are on the border between two sizes, it is almost always advised to select the smaller size. You do not want to wear a padded sling that is too big for you. If it is, you will not be able to tighten your sling enough to keep baby above your waist and snug against your chest. Thus, your baby will be worn too low on your body. Not only is this unsafe for your baby, but it will cause you lower back pain as your baby's weight is not being evenly distributed across your body.

1. Where do you carry your weight? In your hips or in your chest? If you carry your weight below your waist and are on the border between sizes, go with the smaller size. If you carry your weight above your waist. go with the larger size (particularly if you have a large bust).

2. Are you pregnant or have you recently had a baby? If so, we recommend selecting the smaller size to ensure the sling will fit well as you lose your pregnancy weight.

3. Who will be wearing the sling? Depending on their height/weight, some couples are able to share slings. Although, for a good fit, it is often recommended that babywearers purchase their own sling.

4. Wearing twins? If you want to wear two small infants in the same sling and if you are on the border between sizes, you may need to select the larger size.

5. What's the weather like? Will you be wearing the sling over a coat or bulky sweater? Many people wear their slings under their coat. But if you prefer wearing your sling over your bulky clothing, you may want some extra room in the sling to accommodate the extra bulk. In addition, if your child will be wearing a snowsuit, she will also take up a bit more room.
